WHERE DO I BUY TICKETS FOR RAILFEST?
Tickets are purchased at the door. No advance ticket sales this year. Cash, Visa and Mastercard are accepted at the gate. 


I WANT TO RIDE THE TRAIN, HOW DO I GET TICKETS?
Due to the costs associated of restoration of our equipment, tickets to ride are a separate charge. Ride tickets will be sold at the boarding site within the museum grounds.

WHAT KIND OF RAILCARS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO RIDE IN?
We will have a variety of vintage cabooses to ride behind, as well as our historic combination coach/baggage/caboose car.


WHERE DOES THE TRAIN RIDE GO?
The train will operate on our lead track from the north side of the museum grounds to the track lead at Union Station. The entire distance is about 1200 feet. The train will move back and forth 3 times each trip for about 1 1/4 miles of total running between rides. 

WHAT FOOD AND DRINKS ARE AVAILABLE?
Food and drink options vary year to year based on the availability of vendors we reach out to. 

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Then you might get wet, but the event will continue rain or shine. Certain activities will be subject to weather conditions.

MAY I LEAVE THE EVENT AND RETURN LATER?
Yes. Wristbands can be distributed attendees upon request for convenient egress to and from Railfest. 

IS THE AREA ACCESSIBLE FOR THOSE WITH WHEELCHAIRS AND STROLLERS?
The event will take place at street level and the upper track level. The exterior site is paved. There is no operating elevator to the upper track level of the grounds, but we will accommodate those in need of assistance with transportation between levels. Please notify a volunteer at the main entry, or call in advance of your visit (316-263-0944) and we gladly help those in need of assistance to access the upper level.
